Logingo High-Fidelity Prototype

Logingo Case Study

Project Background
Introduction to Logingo, a native mobile app for logging restaurants and points of interest a user has visited/wishes to visit, with ability to include notes. This project ran from February 2023 to April 2025; I was the lead UX researcher and designer, and my responsibilities included user research, wireframing, prototyping, and testing
Logingo aims to solve the problem of difficulty keeping track of places one has visited or wants to visit, and why, by providing a one-stop place for logging locations and their corresponding notes
Understanding the User
Preliminary user research failed to turn up direct competitors, or a comparable app on the market, despite an eagerness for an easier way of noting and recalling destinations
User pain points include lack of suitable logging options, focus on only one location or type of place, focus only on popular, well-known places, and difficulty remembering where they've been or want to go
Persona for Katie, a traveler and journalist interested in logging places she's been to remember for travel articles and for herself
Persona for Erik, a foodie and chef looking for a way to collect notes on restaurants he's been to so he can remember what he ordered/liked
Beginning the Design
Paper wireframes, showing the preliminary homepage design
Digital wireframes, showing a difference in layout from the paper version, and initial functionality
Digital wireframe showing a potential restaurant log with notes
Low-fidelity prototype, focusing on a simple key user flow of confirming a location, picking a restaurant for that location, and viewing the notes for the restaurant before exiting back home

Usability testing, with round one indicating a need for changing hamburger menus so they are more easily clicked, clearing up user confusion on some button's purposes, and an easier way to access the user profile. Round 2 indicated a need for additional screens/tasks, a more engaging color scheme and imagery inclusion, and a way to return home or back after completing a task
Refining the Design
The mockup shows a change primarily to design, with the first iteration of the color scheme and imagery inclusion
More mockup screens showing differences
The high-fidelity prototype, showing an evolution after a revisit two years later, with a new user flow included, a design overhaul, and tweaks to navigation/layout

Next Steps
Accessibility considerations included proper color contrast, intuitive and easy design elements for the user to follow, and large, contrasting clickable elements
Feedback is favorable. Through this project, I learned how to create a prototype and follow a full UX design process, as this was the first prototype I ever created. I also learned how to conduct user research and implement the insights gained from this data
Next steps include utilizing most current user testing data to improve user flows, increase functionality, and continue conducting user testing to identify future improvement opportunities
